商店街のクジに応募した

I entered the lottery for the shopping district.
There are many prizes available, but it’s natural that there are fewer winners for the higher-value items.
Thinking that being too greedy might reduce my chances of winning, I opted for the least expensive product with the highest number of winners.
However, I didn’t win.
I wonder if it’s considered “greedy” to believe that I’ll win just because there are more winners for that particular item.
If I was going to lose anyway, I should have applied for the more expensive product, I thought.

商店街のクジに応募した。
商品は沢山あり、高額商品は当然当たりの数は少ない。
あまり欲を出すと当たらないと思い、一番安価で、一番当選者数が多い商品に応募した。
しかし、外れた。
一番当選者数が多いから当たるだろうと思うことが”欲を出している”ことになるのだろうかな。
どうせ外れるなら高額商品に応募しておけば良かった思った。
