The other day, I wrote about the sound in the toilet.
If someone asks if I have a sense for ghosts, I would answer no.
I don’t believe in ghosts.
That’s why the sound in the toilet feels unsettling.
If I did believe in ghosts, I could blame it all on them.
My parents didn’t believe in ghosts either.
However, both said strange things as they were dying.
My mother said that an ancestor was at her feet.
And my father said he could see spirits.
I believe their minds were confused and they were seeing hallucinations.
There’s no way ancestors come to fetch them or spirits fly around.
先日、トイレの音の話を書いた。
ところで、俺は霊感があるのかと問うたら「なし」と答える。
基本的に霊は信じないからだ。
だからこそトイレの音は気持ちが悪い。
もしも霊を信ずるなら、全てを霊のせいにできるのだが。
僕の両親も霊を信じないはずだった。
でも、二人とも死ぬ間際におかしなことを言っていた。
母は、足元にご先祖様がいると言っていた。
父は人魂が見えると言っていた。
脳が混乱していて幻をみたのだろうと思う。
ご先祖様が迎えに来ることや人魂が飛ぶことなんてあるはずがない。(20時22分)
