What age must we work until?
The other day, there was an opinion in the paper that, although we are said to work until 70 years old, we should retire early to celebrate life.
On the other hand, in my workplace, there are people who are over 75 years old.
One of them said he has no hobbies, so it doesn’t matter if he stays at home.
He believes it is better to work to pass the time.
Which opinion is right.
I think both are right.
It depends on the person.
Assume you can live without working.
If you can’t live without working, there is no choice but to work.
If you are just killing time, you should work.
If you are not killing time, you should not work.
Anyway, which way should I choose?
人は何歳まで働けばよいのだろうか。
先日、新聞に「世の中は70歳まで働くように言われているが早くリタイヤして人生を謳歌した方が良い」との意見が出ていた。
他方、今の私の勤務先には75歳を超えて働いている人がいる。
彼曰く「趣味もないし家にいてもどうしようもない」とのこと。
働いている方が時間つぶしになって良いという。
さて、どちらの意見が正しいか。
おそらく、どちらも正しいのだろう。
個々人によって違ってくると思う。
前提として生活は働かなくとも送ることができるものとする。
もしも働かなけれが生きていけないなら働くしか選択肢がなくなるからだ。
時間を持て余すなら働くこと。
持て余さないなら働かないことだと思っている。
