It’s a story about the toilet at my workplace.
Whenever I go, there’s a sound from the area where the cleaning tools are kept.
It sounds like running water or someone wiping something.
At first, I thought it was the cleaning lady washing used cleaning tools, but I haven’t met her.
However, the sound is always there whenever I go, but it stops when I’m with someone.
I told my colleague about this, but he said he had never heard such a sound.
I’m unsure whether to open the door when I hear the sound or not.
It would be awkward if the cleaning lady is really washing used cleaning tools, and it would feel even worse if no one is there.
There seems to be no good outcome whether I open the door or not.
今、働いている職場のトイレの話。
僕がトイレに行けば必ず掃除用具置き場から音がする。
水を流している音だったり、何かを拭いている音だったりだ。
最初は掃除のおばさんが使い終わった掃除道具を洗っている音だと思っていたが、そのオバサンとは一度も顔を合わしたことがない。
にもかかわらず、トイレに行くたびに必ず音がするが、他に人がいるときは音はしない。
同僚にこの話をしてもそんな音は彼は聞いたことがないという。
掃除用具置き場のドアを音がしたときに開けてみようかと思っているが、迷っている。
もしも、本当に掃除のオバサンガ掃除用具を洗っていたらとても気まずいし、それ以上に、もしも誰もいなかったらもっと気持ちが悪い。
開けてもどのみち良いことがないのだ。(20時21分)
