The snow has melted, and spring has arrived.
It’s the season when bears finally wake up from their winter hibernation.
While encounters with bears are rare in urban areas, we need to be cautious when going for wild plant gathering.
As usual, I’ll be going wild plant gathering with my friend later this month.
Recently, the bear population has increased, making encounters more likely.
In Sapporo City, where I live, capturing bears used to be discouraged due to their endangered status.
However, this year, there’s a more proactive approach to capturing them.
Let’s hope we don’t run into any bears.

雪が解けて春になった。
いよいよクマが冬眠から目覚める季節となった。
市街地に住んでいるとクマと出くわすことはほとんどないが、山菜取りに行くときは気を付けないとならない。
今月下旬に例年の通り、友達と山菜取りに行く。
昨今はクマの数が増えて出くわす可能性も高くなった。
私の住む札幌市では今までは絶滅危惧種ということで捕獲に消極的だったが、今年からは捕獲に前向きになっている。
熊に出くわさないことを願う。
