An unlucky day is surely like this.
When I stopped by the Kentucky Fried Chicken shop after work, I got caught in the rain on the way there.
I usually keep an umbrella in my bag, but on that day I forgot it, and I got soaked just walking the short distance from the car to the shop.
The shop isn’t always crowded, but that day the line was long.
When I went to pay, the cash register ran out of receipt paper.
By the time I got back home, the weather had cleared up.
On the way home, I kept hitting red lights and could hardly move forward.
Since I had also bought some for my brother who lives next door, I told my wife I would let him know on LINE, but she told me to bring it over directly, and we ended up arguing.
I probably shouldn’t have bought Kentucky Fried Chicken that day.
ついていない日とは、きっとこういう日のことを言うのだろう。
今日、仕事帰りにケンタッキーフライドチキンを買おうと店に向かったところ、途中で雨に降られた。
いつもはカバンに入れている傘を、その日に限って忘れてしまい、車から店までのわずかな距離でびしょ濡れになった。
普段はガラガラの店なのに、その日に限って長蛇の列。
しかも、俺の会計のタイミングでレジのレシート用紙が切れる始末。
家に帰ると、今度はカラッと晴れている。
道中も赤信号ばかりで進まなかった。
隣に住む弟の分も買ったのだが、LINEで連絡すると言ったら、妻に「直接持っていけ」と言われ、そこから口論に。
ケンタッキーフライドチキンなんて、買わなければよかった。
